Chat Moderators

Nobody really seems to know whether CM stands for Chat Master, Chat Moderator, Chat Manager or something else!

What most people agree is that CMs make the difference between a good and a bad online bingo site.

A good CM should welcome new and returning players to the website, should help players with any questions about how the site works and then their job is to chat. CMs are there to help the chat go smoothly, cheer people up, congratulate winning players and, if necessary, stop people from arguing or being rude to other people.

CMs will typical use lots of bingo chat abbreviation and acronyms – we’ve listed the most common in our dictionary of bingo terms.

CMs also run chat games while the bingo games is being played which allows people to win extra cash while they are playing.

CMs are typically paid around 9 euros per hour, although some sites only pay CMs in money that can be used on the bingo site. Most reputable bingo sites prevent their CMs from playing on the site they work at so as to prevent any suggestion that they might fix bingo games in some way (although that would be difficult to do).

CMs generally enforce the following rules on bingo sites:

  • Don’t argue
  • Don’t type in CAPITALS – in chat rooms that is like shouting and is considered rude
  • Don’t swear
  • Don’t be abusive
  • Don’t be racist
  • Don’t insult other players or the CM
  • Don’t disrupt
  • Don’t complain
  • Don’t beg
  • Don’t promote other online bingo rooms
  • Don’t exchange any account information
